4. DOT ACCREDITATION VALIDATION FOR BUSINESS PERMIT APPROVAL
Pursuant to REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9593 otherwise known as the “Tourism act of 2009”, Rule 8, Chapter 1, Section 122: Accreditation states that Primary Tourism Enterprises (PTEs) such as hotels, resorts, inns and other accommodation establishments are required to secure accreditation from the Department of Tourism (DOT) for issuance of license or permit to operate. LGUs have to ensure that all PTEs have complied with and have obtained DOT accreditation before operations.
